Twitch Offline Banner Requirements (2026)
- 📐Size: 1920 × 1080 pixels (Full HD 16:9)
- 📄Format: JPG, PNG, or GIF
- 💾File Size: Under 10MB
- 💤Display: Shows when you are not live (Video Player Background)
Your Channel's "Closed" Sign
When you're not streaming, your channel page can still work for you. The Twitch Offline Banner (also called the Video Player Banner) fills the black void of the video player when you are offline. Use our tool to resize your art to the standard 1920 × 1080 pixels resolution.
Why You Need an Offline Banner
Without a banner, visitors just see a black screen or your last VOD thumbnail. A custom banner is prime real estate to:
- Show Your Schedule: Tell people when you'll be back.
- Promote Socials: list your Twitter/X, Instagram, or Discord.
- Set the Vibe: Maintain your brand aesthetic even when you sleep.
- Call to Action: "Follow to get notified when I go live!"
Offline Banner vs. Profile Banner
It's easy to mix these up:
- Offline Banner (1920x1080): Replaces the video player. Highly visible.
- Profile Banner (1200x480): Shows at the very top of your channel page behind your logo. Often covered by UI elements.
How to Upload Your Offline Banner
- Go to your Creator Dashboard.
- Select Settings > Channel.
- Scroll down to the Brand section.
- Find Video Player Banner.
- Click Update and upload your 1920x1080 image.
💡 Design Strategy
Since the "Offline" text overlay appears in the top-right corner of the video player, try to keep your important text (like your schedule) in the center or bottom-left of your design to avoid it being covered.
What to Include on Your Banner?
- "Currently Offline": Make it clear you aren't live.
- Stream Schedule: "Live Mon/Wed/Fri @ 5PM EST".
- Social Handles: @YourName everywhere.
- Recent Sponsors: A great place to put logos if you have them.
Common Mistakes
- Clutter: Don't try to fit your entire life story. Keep it readable.
- Outdated Info: If your schedule changes, update your banner! Nothing is worse than a banner saying "Live Today" when you aren't.
- Low Resolution: The video player is big. A blurry image looks unprofessional. Always use 1920x1080.

Compression Tips
While the file limit is 10MB, Twitch compresses images heavily. To avoid artifacts (blocky mess):
- Save as PNG for text clarity.
- Don't use gradients that are too subtle (they can band).
- Use high contrast text.
